I believe the design is elegant. the pipe stem all but eliminates water in the mouth. As the previous poster pointed out the downstem is an issue. slots in the lower part that must be below water make this part to fragile to be a daily driver. i just bought 2 more downspouts as i love how effective it is and how smooth it hits, but it broke on the 2nd day of use. if it had an adaptor so that a regular pullout could be used that would eliminate most, if not all, of this pipes issues. without an adaptor or some way to use a regular adaptor it would be difficult to recommend, which is a shame as it gets me where i want to be rather quickly.

It is a bubbler that holds water and the bowl is removable which is a great feature, but from a functionality standpoint it is not very good. To cover the three slits of the percolator but not have water go into the spout upon use is a fine tune game of 1 millimeter. At first I thought maybe that dirty water in my mouth may encourage me to clean to on every hit, but its just not worth it. Additionally the shape is a little useless as the high sitting percolator negates the depth of the chamber. It seems well made with good joints in the glass.
